TWO MAJOR LINCOLN COUNTY HIGHWAY PROJECTS CONTINUE THROUGH FALL

Two major highway construction projects in Lincoln County will continue through the fall, with both WIS 107 and WIS 17 closed to through traffic.

WIS 107

WIS 107 is closed between Wilderness Drive and County S while crews repave the asphalt roadway and repair or replace culverts.Work will resume September 21 with milling of the existing pavement. The project is scheduled to continue through October 15.Drivers should use WIS 64, U.S. 51 and County S as the signed detour.

WIS 17

WIS 17 is also closed to through traffic between WIS 64 and Big Hay Meadow Creek.

The project includes replacing the asphalt surface, replacing concrete curb and gutter, installing centerline rumble strips and adding protective thermoplastic coating at snowmobile crossings.Crews are continuing roadway excavation, culvert installation and placement of base materials.Traffic is being detoured along WIS 64, U.S. 51 and U.S. 8.

The first phase of the project is scheduled to continue through November 6, 2026. A second phase is planned from April 5 through July 30, 2027.
